Dressmaker System Requirements for Windows and macOS
The published Dressmaker minimum specs, why Intel UHD 630 graphics are enough, and the two things the store page does not tell you about running it.
Dressmaker asks for very little. On Windows the published minimum is Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen processor, 8 GB of RAM, Intel UHD 630 graphics or better, DirectX 11 and 1 GB of free space. On macOS the published minimum is an Apple M1 with 8 GB of RAM and 1 GB of free space. There is no recommended tier. The store page publishes a minimum and stops, so nothing official promises that high-end hardware will run it better. What it does tell you is that this is a light game, and the requirement for integrated graphics is the proof.

Two cells say “not stated” because the store page genuinely leaves them blank. Do not fill them in from a third-party spec page. Several are circulating with invented numbers.
Why integrated graphics are enough
The requirement for Intel UHD 630 is the interesting part, because that is an integrated chip rather than a dedicated card. It tells you what the game is doing.
The dressmaking itself runs in a small stylised 3D space. The shop, the customers and the Emporium are hand-drawn 2D illustrations layered over it. There is no open world, no crowd system and no heavy lighting.
That reading is an interpretation rather than an official statement, but it is a safe one, and the screenshots support it. If your machine can run a modest indie game at all, it can run this one.
The macOS detail that catches people out
The macOS minimum names Apple M1 and nothing else. It does not list a single Intel Mac configuration.
That does not prove Intel Macs cannot launch the game. It does mean the game is not sold with Intel Mac support promised, so buying on an Intel Mac carries a risk the store page will not settle for you.
There is a second macOS quirk, and it applies to the free prototype rather than the release. That build is not notarised by Apple, so macOS blocks it until you approve it manually in Privacy and Security. The release comes through Steam, which handles that.
Checking your own machine in about a minute
Three numbers decide it.
- Operating system. Windows 10 or later, or an Apple silicon Mac.
- Memory. 8 GB or more. This is the most common miss on older laptops.
- Graphics. On Windows, anything at or above Intel UHD 630. On a Mac, being on Apple silicon answers this for you.
The processor line is the least demanding of the three. Any recent i5 or Ryzen clears it.
If the game runs badly anyway
Since the hardware bar is low, poor performance usually comes from the environment rather than the machine.
- Check which GPU is active. Laptops with both integrated and dedicated graphics sometimes route the game to the wrong one.
- Close background memory hogs. 8 GB is the minimum, not a comfortable target, and a browser with many tabs can eat the difference.
- Confirm you are on a supported Mac. On Apple silicon the game is supported; on Intel it is not promised.
If none of that helps, report it rather than guessing. The developers ask for bug reports with the save file attached, and the official links page lists where to send them.
Handheld performance is a different question
The Steam Deck’s official compatibility rating is Playable, and the developers say the game runs fast there. The obstacle on a handheld is the pointer-driven interface rather than the frame rate.
